MDS Monday #25

This week we had the option to create any project we liked.  I had my kids' pictures taken while we were visiting family in Utah last summer - I have a photographer there that I absolutely love so I couldn't pass up the chance to have her do a photo shoot.  I decided on a location that's close to my parents' house, right at the foot of the Wellsville mountains.  It's one of my favorite places in Cache Valley.

I've scrapbooked a couple of these photos but still have some work to do on the album, so I thought I'd get started there.  I started with the Downtown Grunge templates (12x12) and here is my finished project:

I added stamped images from Watercolor Trio, Pedaling Past and Define Your Life sets.  I also used an image from Hip and Handsome Overlays to give a subtle texture to the background.
Wanting to keep the picture the main focus of my page, I made sure to only use a couple of colored elements.  I didn't want anything competing with the cutie on the page :)  The paper is from the Sweet Details pack, and the other elements I pulled from Lucky Star and Vintage Trinkets.

Using the templates that come with the kits is a definite time saver!  It was really easy to add my photo and a few embellishments.  That's the kind of scrapbooking I like!

Perfect page. We were in Wellsville last summer. A niece lives there. It is such a beautiful place. I am going to have to have some photos taken of my grandchildren and do pages like this Thanks.

I love, love, love this page, Amber! I am going to order that Hip and Handsome overlay right now! Sometimes the images that come with the new download notices just don't show up very well and I had passed this one by.

thanks Sue! I agree - those patterns are hard to see. I bought it without really knowing what I was getting but I'm so glad I did. I use it all the time!
