Is winter driving anyone else crazy? I'm really looking forward to taking nice warm walks outside! I found this journal the other day at a craft store and just had to have it. Of course, I was already thinking of ways I could embellish it. I wouldn't be a true stamper if I didn't, right?
Just a few pieces of paper, some ribbon and a stamped sentiment and...Ta Da!
Covering this was really simple; first, I adhered a piece of Designer Series paper to the inside using my SNAIL adhesive. I also added a small strip of the same DSP to the front. I tied a ribbon around the cover and then tied my stamped sentiment to the ribbon using Linen Thread.
I thought it would be fun to add something to the middle of the two larger flowers, so I added the new Chocolate Chip Epoxy brads (from the Spring Mini). This was the only tricky part. The brads moved around even after I put the tabs down, so I used some Crystal Effects to glue them to the cover. It took a couple of tries, but I finally got it! I'd recommend holding your brad with a pair of tweezers while you apply the glue and then let the brad sit for a little bit so that it has a chance to dry. After that, I covered the back of the brads with circles of cardstock and a Stampin' Dimensional. Here's what it looks like:
I added a few extra circles of cardstock to give a little more color to the flowers. I also covered the back of the journal with some paper and ribbon, just to tie it all in together.
The hardest part was deciding which colors and ribbon to use, after that it was easy. Can't wait to use my new journal!

Cute! I'm lovin' that flower cut-out cover, and the brads in the centers.
Hi Amber!
I bought one just like that at
Michaels. Your design is great!
I want to go back and get some
more and use your design. They
would make great gifts.
Ruthie - I'm glad you found one. I went back to Michael's to get more and they were completely gone!
