MDS Blog Hop - Week 5

Good morning!  Are you ready for another round of fabulous projects?  I can't wait - the MDS Blog Hop is one more reason to look forward to Fridays!

I was sad to miss out on last week's challenge, but we were at the beach that weekend.  The good news is that I came back with some great pictures to use for this week's challenge!  Rochelle chose our theme - the Great Outdoors - and we had to use at least 2 pictures.  Here's what I came up with:

I had a lot of fun with this page.  I wanted a background that looked sandy and I was able to get that look by using several layers.  I started with a piece of Very Vanilla textured card stock and then added two different stamps from Vintage Overlays.  That was actually a mistake that turned out to be something I liked - don't you love it when that happens?  I also used a script stamp in the corners, but for the life of me - I can't find which stamp I used.  I'll keep checking and update the post when I find it.

I also wanted to create a few waves on my page, so I pulled out my Autumn Elements stamp set.  I thought the flourishes looked a bit like waves.
Here are the rest of the elements I used:

Rough Type Alphabet
Summer Splash stamp set
Notes and Details stamp set
Downtown Grunge kit
Limited Edition embellishments
Scallop Dot Ribbon
Pea Anna-Banana (font)
Pea C-squared (font)

Alright, now it's time to hop to around to see the fabulous things the rest of the design team has created!

That's great! My girls just read a book last year about the wild horses from that area....if they still have them there. Anyway, I think that stamp in the bottom left corner is a stamp from the downtown grunge kit. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful job.
