Stampers' Club / Pajama Party

Happy Day, Club members - your orders are here! If you'd like me to drop them off to you let me know, other wise you can pick them up at my house.

The other good news is that my supplies arrived as well, so I'll have samples and prices listed soon for our Pajama Party in November!!

Finally - some new posts!

It's been awhile since I posted, but I have a good excuse. My camera program was uploading my photos into a folder I couldn't find - weird! Chris was able to figure out the problem and everything is fixed now, so I should be able to post more often!

I've put up a few posts today, so make sure you scroll all the way down. I've even put up some of my stamps for sale!

Lindsey's Workshop

My friend Lindsey asked me to host a workshop for her this past Saturday and I was a little nervous because it's the first one I've done in awhile. Most of my customers are interested in joining my Stampers' Club, but they're not always interested in hosting an at-home workshop, so I'm a little out of practice. I was a bit rusty, but all in all I think we had a great time! It's so much fun to meet new people and show them just how easy it is to create hand-stamped gifts and home decor. In fact, I had such a great time that I'm thinking I should try to do a few more workshops - anyone interested?

I demonstrated two of the cards we made at October's GNO and at the last minute I changed my mind about the 3rd project I was going to do and created a cute scrapbook page instead.

World Card Making Day and GNO Projects

October 4th is officially World Card Making Day, so in honor of this very popular holiday, we made 4 different cards for Girls' Night Out. I was pretty pleased with how they all turned out and everyone had so much fun! Getting together with friends, stamping 'til the late hours of the night, enjoying yummy food and hilarious girl talk - ahhh...it doesn't get much better than that!

The colors on this are a little off, but again, that's just my dumb camera and lack of photography skills. You get the idea though. We embossed a few elements on this card with Silver Embossing Powder. To create a fun accent behind the skull stamp, we embossed it and then used a sponge to daub on some Kiwi Kiss ink. My sister says it looks like it could glow in the dark - very cool!

This card uses the Pick A Petal stamp set (the greeting is retired - sorry!) and I wish I could take credit for such a cute idea. I found it on Splitcoast Stampers; how amazing that you can use the images to make something completely different from what it was designed for. Now that's creativity!

I hadn't used Heartfelt Thanks in quite awhile so I figured it was time to dig it out. I found the layout for this on Splitcoast Stampers and made just a few changes. I love the new Bella Rose Designer Series Paper this year - I think it coordinates perfectly with the flower on this card. We used a fun technique to achieve the watercolor look of the flower. Spritz a piece of watercolor paper with water - you don't need much, just enough to wet the paper. Using your Watercolor Crayons, color directly onto the stamp and then stamp onto the wet paper. When you remove your stamp you'll see that the crayon instantly spreads just enough to make it look as though you watercolored it yourself! Allow the paper to dry and then stamp your second image on top of the first one to give a more dimensional look to your flower. Voila! An elegant card that makes you look like a natual artist.

As beautiful as the last card was, this is my absolute favorite. We used a technique similar to the one we used on the first Halloween card. After embossing our image with white embossing powder, we used a Stipple Brush to create a soft texture behind our stamped image. So simple to put together, but one that the recipient will be sure to keep!

Our next GNO is November 14th at 7:00 pm. I'm planning to post our projects next week, so keep checking back!

Retired Stamps for Sale!

Each time Stampin' Up! retires their catalog, I sell a few of my sets simply because I can't demonstrate them anymore. There's no sense in showing a product that isn't available anymore right? So...as hard as it is to part with my beloved stamps I do it so that I can afford to purchase new products to demonstrate for you! Move your cursor over the picture to see the title and price of the stamp set. If you see one you're interested in, you can leave a comment letting me know which one(s) and I will set them aside for you. You're also welcome to email or call me - whatever works best. Happy Shopping!

Girls' Night Out is Tomorrow!

Hey Stampers!
Things are insanely busy around here, so I apologize profusely for the lack of posting. I just can't seem to find the time to get everything done. I really do have the best of intentions and ideas for more projects than I can possibly create, but just like the old saying - Life is what happens while you're making other plans!

Girls' Night Out is tomorrow night and I'm still frantically trying to get our projects ready. I hope to have some samples up soon so that you can get a look at them. In honor of World Card Making Day this month we'll be making several cards rather than a scrapbook page.

I hope you can make it tomorrow! Please try to let me know if you'll be attending so that I can have supplies cut and ready for you. If you forget to RSVP - please come anyway! I'd never turn anyone away :)
