Christmas Blocks

Some of you may know that I'm a part of a group called Utah Divas International; I also post different stamp projects from the UDI designers on the blog once a week.  I absolutely love being a part of UDI.  It's a group of Stampin' Up demonstrators from all over the world and we share project ideas, business tips and lots of laughter!  I've met some really wonderful people through this group and I'm so grateful for each of them.

A month or so ago, the founder of the group - Max - gave a Stampin' Up gift certificate as a Thank You to those of us who contribute to the blog.  I was blown away - FREE stamps?  No way!  I definitely wasn't expecting it and I was thrilled to receive the gift.  I had such a hard time choosing, but I finally settled on the Holiday Mix Decor Elements and the Decor Elements blocks; both from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I had so much fun playing with these products!  First, I painted them Ivory with some acrylic paint - it took about 3 coats - and then I sanded the edges down.  Once that was finished I was ready to create!  I had the Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper (DSP) on hand, and a few different types of ribbon, so I went to town :)

The Decor Elements come in a few colors, but I only had Chocolate Chip.  Since I wanted to use as many of the Decor Elements as I could, I decided to use Velum as a layer; that way I could place one element on top of another and still have dimension.

I was able to create another side to these blocks so I can use them all through the winter!

I made one more project with these cute Decor Elements, but I'll wait to post it until tomorrow :)

If you have any questions on the products or techniques I used for this project please leave me a comment or send an email.  I'm happy to share what I know!  You can also click on any of the pictures to get a better look :)
