PLxSU Trio Challenge - Week 16

I can't believe we're nearly half way through July already! Hopefully you're having lots of fun doing summer activities :)

We thought it would be a great week to post the pages we're working on. It's always fun to see what everyone is up to and get new ideas. I'm still working on our vacation pictures so I was pretty excited to see that the Let's Get Away kit was released in the PL app. I have the paper kit as well, so I can mix digital and paper pages in my albums and it will all coordinate!

Here are just a couple of pages that I've finished. I used the Rhonna Designs app on these pages as well.

If you haven't already, stop by Cori and Holly's blogs to see what they've been up to and then post your creations on our FB page. See you next week!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 16

Welcome to another week of the Trio Challenge! If you're in the US I hope you had a great time with family and friends celebrating July 4th!

In honor of Independence Day, we thought it would be fun to use stars on our pages this week. That doesn't mean you have to do a patriotic themed page - we'll leave the creativity up to you. :)

My page is patriotic, but that's because we just got back from a vacation to Williamsburg, VA and I want to document everything before I forget.

I used the Americana themed cards in the PL App, but there are tons of cards in other kits that can be used in a red, white and blue theme.

This weekly challenge has been so fun and motivational for me - I hope it is for you too! Make sure to visit Cori and Holly's blogs to see their pages and then post your own in our Facebook group

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 15

Hi everyone! It's great to start another week and another challenge!

This week we'd love to see you use a calendar on your page. Here's mine:

Originally I thought I would try to find a card or a graphic in Rhonna Designs with a calendar and then I remembered that I'd used a picture of a calendar to announce that we're expecting and I thought it would be perfect. I created the calendar in MDS which was a piece of cake. It took me longer to decide on fonts than it did to actually put the calendar together. ;)

For this page I used the SU kit Love Story and the Desktop edition in the PL app. Hopefully they'll release some of the new SU editions in the PL app soon!

Holly and Cori have amazing pages to share with us this week so don't forget to stop by their blogs! You can also post your pages on our Facebook page - we love to see them!

Thanks for stopping by :)

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 14

Welcome to another week of the Trio Challenge! This time around we'd love to see you combine two of our past challenges. I think it'll be so fun to see what you each come up with!

For my page, I chose to combine stripes and b&w photos. As usual, I created the page in the PL app and then opened it in the Rhonna Designs app to add some extra text and graphics.

I love the simplicity of this page and the way the photos stand out. I think it really helps to tell the story. I used cards from the Kiwi and Seafoam editions and the Cathy Zielske kit.

Here's a list of our past challenges:

1) 3/23 - Use one photo in multiple pockets
2) 3/30 - Use a list
3) 4/6 - Stamp on a photo
4) 4/13 - Use arrows
5) 4/20 - Banner/Flags
6) 4/27 - Selfie
7) 5/4 - Sketch
8) 5/11 - Create a Card
9) 5/18 - What are you working on?
10) 5/25 - Black & White photo
11) 6/1 - Use Memorabilia
12) 6/8 - Use stripes
13) 6/15 - About Dad

We can't wait to see your pages this week! Make sure to post them to our FB page and stop by Cori and Holly's sites for more inspiration!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 13

Alright, week 13 of the Trio Challenge! This time we're focusing on Dads - in honor of Father's Day of course - so we'd love to see what stories you have to tell about the fathers in your life.

I had a cute picture of Chris with our boys that I had to scrap. I love the end result and the kids were excited to add some journaling of their own!

I used the Rad Dad mini kit in the PL app for this page.

Make sure to check out Cori and Holly's pages too - you'll love them!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - Week 12

12 weeks! That's 3 months! Can you believe it? The time has flown by and I've had so much fun doing this weekly challenge with all of you. Thanks so much for playing along each week :)

For our challenge this week we wanted to keep things simple so we decided to create layouts using stripes. What is it about stripes that are so fun? Love them. There are a ton of great cards in the PL app and I had a hard time deciding what to use. I finally chose from the Project 52 Edition, Strawberry Edition, Kiwi Edition and Teen Boy Themed Cards. I love combining different kits together!

I used the Rhonna Designs app once again to add a graphic and text onto this cute card. I love doing that - it's super easy and is a great way to personalize my pages.

We really love seeing what you come up with each week so don't forget to post your page(s)! And be sure to check out Cori and Holly's blogs for more inspiration!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 11

Wahoo - it's June 1st! I love summer so I'm pretty excited about that :)

This week our challenge is to use some type of memorabilia on your pages. The Trio all used ticket stubs, but you can use anything else that comes to mind.

When we decided on the challenge I remembered some pictures I'd taken when we were on vacation in FL a few years ago. Yep - a few years ago and I still haven't scrapped those pictures. I'd say it's about time to get on that, wouldn't you?

I haven't finished all of the pictures from this day, but here are just a few pages from our tour with the dolphins at Sea World. It was worth every. single. penny. Truly - it was an amazing experience that I'll never forget!

When I first started scrapbooking, I kept every single scrap of paper and when I met my husband he was totally confused when I asked him if I could have our movie ticket stubs. He's teased me ever since about keeping all those little scraps of paper that "I might want to scrapbook". Once I started doing digital pages, I decided that I didn't want to bother with scanning in all my tickets so I just took pictures of them instead. And I have to say, I like this so much better. I don't have lots of clutter to sort through and I can take a cute picture near the event, like this one where you can see the dolphin nursery in the background. Win Win, am I right?

I used the PL app, the Cathy Zielske kit and the Kiwi Edition.

I'm so excited to see the pages that you create this week. Isn't it awesome that we're all getting so much work done on our albums? Make sure to check out Holly and Cori's pages too - they had some super cute ideas!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 10

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Whatever your plans may be for the day, I hope you're having a great time :)

This week we're challenging you to use black and white photos in your layouts. Here's mine:

What I really love about scrapbooking with b&w photos is the freedom it gives you in choosing cards and embellishments. The photos I chose for this layout had a lot of different colors in them and distracting elements in the background. Taking the color out simplified everything and really brought the focus back to the subject of the picture. And, as an added bonus, I was able to use whatever PL cards I wanted without the colors clashing with my pictures. Win Win, right?

I can't wait to see what you each come up with this week - it's so inspiring to see what you're each working on and it's fun to get a little insight into your personalities :)

You'll definitely want to see what Cori and Holly's pages, so make sure to stop by their blogs as well. See you next week!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 9

Hello there! I hope you're excited for another week of Project Life inspiration. We really love this group and are always so wowed by the pages you post on our FB page each week. Thank you so much for making this challenge group such a fun one!

This week is a "What We're Working On" challenge. So the door is wide open - show us whatever you've been doing with PL lately!

Personally, I'm trying to catch up on documenting all the pictures on my phone. I won't even tell you how many there are! The PL app makes it really easy to scrap anywhere, anytime. So if I'm sitting in the Kiss 'n Ride waiting for my kids, I can pull out my phone and get a couple of pages done super quick. Such a time saver!

Here are a few pages from our visit to the International Spy Museum. Andrew really wanted to go for his birthday and we had a blast. If you're ever in D.C. make sure to add it to your "must see" list!

I used a few different kits for these pages. I love to mix and match, so I don't usually stick with one kit for a project. I used the Seafoam Edition, Road Trip Themed Cards, the Just Add Color Edition, Midnight Edition, and the Kiwi Edition.

Cori and Holly have been working on some really cute pages, so make sure to stop by their blogs and take a look! See you next week :)

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 7 and 8

Hello there! Last week we were dealing with a stomach bug in our house that made it's way through everyone except me - thank goodness! But I wasn't able to find the time to post last weeks challenge - so sorry! I hope you were able to see Holly and Cori's gorgeous pages. Holly gave us a great sketch to work from.

I've been working more and more in the PL app and I chose to do this sketch from the app.

Now, for this week we thought it would be fun to focus not on our pages, but on the cards we're using. So we're asking you to make a WOW card.

In our family we're super excited - and not just because the everyone has finally stopped throwing up - but because we are expecting a baby GIRL this fall! We're over the moon and I'm having quite a bit of fun shopping :)

I want to start her baby book so the challenge to make a WOW card was perfect timing. I made just a couple to get started. Again, I made them in the PL app and then used the Rhonna Designs app to embellish the cards.

I'm so excited to start baby girl's book and use these! We're excited to see what you come up with this week. Make sure to stop by Cori and Holly's blogs and our Facebook page to see what everyone else is creating!

PLxSU Trio Challenge - week 6

So, I'm really interested to see what you think of this week's challenge. I think it's going to be a love it or hate it situation. Ready? Wait for it...

We want you to use: Selfies! That's right. We think it's a really fun idea to use selfies on your layouts this week.  :D

Now...some of you may be cheering - the rest of you just rolled your eyes. But hear us out! Trust me, the Trio isn't on the selfie bandwagon. In fact, usually when we take a selfie it's a joke between us. We text each other our "beautiful" selfies and die laughing. It is truly an endless source of entertainment. Who knew? All joking aside, selfies have become part of our culture - like it or not. So, we decided to have some fun with it. And I have to admit, I love how this turned out. In fact, my heart may have just warmed up to the idea of selfies. Just a bit ;)

Now, don't worry - this doesn't have to be a page all about you; although, would that be so bad? We love getting to know you and besides, if you're preserving your memories - they should include you and not just your family, right?

My page is full of selfie's that my kids took when they "borrowed" my phone, but I do have selfies of me and I'll work on those pages to post on our Facebook page this week. So you'll have to jump on FB to see them :)

Oh, these three little men. They melt my heart!

I've talked before about how I'm a fan of embellishments and although I really  like the PL app it bugs me that I can't embellish more. Plus, there are only a few options when adding text. Well, as I was working on this page it occurred to me that I could create the page in the PL app, save it to my phone and then open it in the Rhonna Designs app and add some fun text and graphics! I'll admit it - I called myself a genius. Out loud. But I'm still quite humble, so no worries.

I am so excited about the way this turned out! It was so easy and incredibly fast - I was done in no time. And I love it!

FYI - I used the Kiwi Edition and the Teen Themed Boy cards.

We're all super excited to see what you post this week! But before you do that, check out Holly and Cori's pages. You're gonna love them!
